In the Drum & Bass scene, there are those who follow trends and those who pave their own way. Those who flock to the flavor of the month, while others stay true to the sounds within their souls and produce what they feel, and do so smashingly. Outrage is one of those producers, and over the last decade, he’s seen himself rise from a pirate radio DJ to a prominent producer, teaming up with the likes of Amit and Digital, and releasing tunes on a number of the scene’s finest imprints.
Zer0 BpM is an extension of what Outrage been doing with his 140bpm label J-Tek Records and his Backlash Records drum & bass baby since 2007. Now in the same place at the same time. Fuck genres and pigeonholing, It’s just Outrage Beats and FUN !
Now Outrage feel’s 100% confident with his sound and direction he want’s to take people on a journey with his new live set. Making people to laugh, cry, dance, smile, mosh and make love to his music. The live show consists of all his own works, live remixes, mash-ups, soundcapes, various BPMs and on-the-fly production.
There will be three parts to the Zer0 BpM EP each with six tracks with various BPMs. All on digital formats only.

NEW RELEASE OUT NOW EXCLUSIVELY ON BEATPORT
RAIDEN + METH – “”THE BOB NUDD PROJECT” / “THE JOHN WILSON PROJECT” – BACKLASH 006!

Nice diversion of sounds for Backlash’s sixth outing. We’ve seen Raiden infusing the dubwise/tribal sounds into his productions, including the birth of his Voodoo Music imprint, but alongside Meth, Raiden marries his tech-fueled fury with the percussion-heavy funk on “The Bob Nudd Project”. Driven by a bouncy melody, this track is low on fancy bells and whistles, and heavy on rich kicks and guttural basstones. One to keep the crowd hype, indeed. On the flip, Raiden & Meth let the bass sing, as a hypnotic line comes front and center on this one. The dubbed out synths and effects slither in and out of the mix, added a sense of terror or doom to the proceedings, crafting a truly understated black horse journey. The odd linchpin in terms of the titles is that both Bob Nudd and John Wilson are fisherman, so maybe Raiden & Meth are envisioning these two falling off the boat, getting attacked by piranha, and these tracks play during their demise? Or did we just go a little too dark on ya…

Fifth release for Outrage’s Backlash Records imprint, and the funk has no sign of ceasing! We’ve got two dynamic plates on this one, and the fiery “Twisted” kicks things off. In his no-nonsense approach, this cut wastes no time in getting to the point: once the infectious bass is introduced, its go time! It’s an understated menace, with not too many elements mucking up the pressure – just snappy drums, a rumble of a bass and some interesting twists and turns to the main theme. Bombastic, try it on a ready crowd. On the flipside, Outrage goes a bit deeper with “New Faces”, bringing in a sinister growl and pairing it up with a bouncy bassline. Feels like the effects of a drug, blood rushing, lights skittering, all colors awash, and all you see are a sea of new faces. Welcome to the future. – khal(DOA)
Keepin’ it nice and nasty Backlash hits you with their fourth outing for this Spring/ Summer 2010.
Kickin’ things into high gear is the grimy rumble of Outrage’s “Make Or Break”, which builds on a simply effective melody that gets your head noddin’ and your waist windin’. Interesting tune to drop in your mix, with enough space to cause mass hysteria. Following that is another stellar collaborative banger from Digital and Outrage in the form of “Stampede”. It builds like an oncoming rush of wild animals…the intro plays the calm before you start seeing a cloud of dust kicked up, heightening anticipation and fear, which climaxes in the rush of that sweeping bassline. When this one drops, you get two choices: move or move out of the way! Big boy riddims on both sides of this plate, which is par for the course when it comes to Backlash. – khal(DOA)
Following up their critically-acclaimed Red Letter LP, Digital and Outrage link up for Outrage’s Backlash Records with “Eclipse”, a dub-soaked number to start 2010 proper! Lead by a thumping kick, this one is a dub-lovers dream, flowing with loads of effects, echo and perfectly-timed ragga vocals. There’s a lot of space in this one, allowing the elements to breathe, and the atmospherics feel like the soundtrack to the moon overtaking the sun. On the flip, Outrage’s “K Zero 9” finally makes it way to the record bins. This one has been tearing things down in its slow-burning venom, and is the perfect lick to get the party started, or send a ready crowd into a frenzy with its hypnotic bass. While the dub-side of Drum & Bass seems to be almost forgotten, its good to know that the torchbearers are still around, injecting tough riddims for those who know. – khal(DOA)

As hard times hit, it has become increasingly difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel for many an artist, but out of the darkness and diversity of the current world climate comes ‘Red Letter’; the stunning debut album collaboration of two boundless imaginations – Digital & Outrage. Both producers are no stranger to collaborating, with Outrage having made a name for himself at the turn of the century allayed to Amit (then producing as Tronic) and has since gone on to team up with talented vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw on his Whisper Audio imprint.
